New JAVAPRO PDF Edition with my Article on Creative Coding
The JavaPro Magazine, a free publication for the Java community, has released its latest PDF edition.
The main topic is Engineering Intelligence — going beyond the AI hype to explore how Java engineers’ work is shifting from writing code toward building systems with intelligence.
I’m pleased to share that my article, titled “When Developers Meet Designers: Lessons from Vibe Coding and the Art of Creative Expression” is featured in this edition.
What is my article about? #
Lessons learned from a recent creative coding workshop on climate data visualization, where we were working together on visualizing an emotional, highly relevant topic. Non-developer designers were able to create expressive, strongly emotional pieces with the help of AI tools.
This experience showed me that AI won’t replace skilled professionals — it can amplify the strengths of those with strong creative or technical foundations, whether they are designers, developers, or data storytellers.
I’m comparing the results of non-coders (designers) using vibe coding with my own experience as a developer. I explore the similarities and differences in our approaches and also discuss the potential benefits of combining a design-focused approach with a software engineer’s expertise.
